zEnterprise IBM's game changer

Scottish Mainframe Users' Group - Welcome

The Scottish Mainframe Users' Group - SMUG - is a group of IBM Mainframe System Programmers. The aims of the group include keeping in touch, swapping stories and sharing ideas and experiences.

All are welcome, including Vendors - as guests - subject to an arbitrary 'fair play' policy allowing freedom for members to express reasonable opinion. Sales pitches do not constitute reasonable opinion. Members are encouraged to enthuse, share, or critique, and in doing so will represent their own personal opinion, not those of their employer or others.

SMUG was formed in 2009. We meet approximately every 4 months to present, share ideas and experience, chat and have a drink together. The subjects of recent presentations have included vendor announcements, zEnterprise briefings, risk mitigation techniques, and the always useful user experiences.

Although we do have the location 'Scottish' in our title, this says more about the location of our meetings than any intention of exclusivity - you will be welcome to contribute regardless of your location.

We have set up an online user forum (link above) for the exchange of ideas, news, experiences, etc - please register and contribute.

Please use the Feedback link above to let us know what you think, and to be added to the email list for news and events.
